General Maintenance
Maintaining your self-closing, self-latching SlideRight door is important. Keep yours in good working condition with the following suggestions:
  • Keep the track free of dirt, pet hair and other debris
  • Replace the rollers every one or two years
  • Lubricate only with dry silicone spray—any other lubricant will gum up the track and rollers
  • Do not help the door close—over time this can fray or break the cable
  • Hold the upper handle until the door is open at least six inches to avoid wearing out the latching mechanism
Adjusting the closing speed
With the door closed, insert a 1/32" Allen wrench into the top hole at the air valve (located at the bottom of the cylinder) to adjust the speed. Turn clockwise to slow the closing speed of the door and turn counter clockwise to increase the closing speed. Do not use more than a 1/4 turn at a time. Try the door several times to allow the air pressure in the cylinder to adjust before adjusting the setting again. NOTE: Turning the adjustment screw more than two full turns will back it completely out of the cylinder causing a complete loss of air pressure.
